List of programmes conducted by Medical Education Department in 2019

1.8th February – CME on Global perspectives on Competency based Medical Education by Dr.Neil Turner , Dean of Undergraduate Learning and Teaching ,University of Edinburg

2.26th &27th April 2019 Induction & Orientation Programme for house-surgeons of 2014 batch –Mission Kaushal, attended by 113 house surgeons with 40 faculty /PGs as resource persons with 19 skill stations .

3. 29th, 30th and 31st May 2019  Curriculum implementation support Programme (CISP)was conducted for 29 faculty members from Pre, Para and Clinical departments .

4.Orientation Program for Post graduates of 2019 batch was conducted on 14th and 15 th June, attended by 48/52 Post graduates.

5.Advanced skills training program for interns conducted on 2nd July , attended by 36 interns .

6. Foundation course for I MBBS students 2019  was conducted from 1st August to 1st September

7.  Skills workshop for house –surgeons conducted  on 20th and 21 st  September , attended by 27 house-sugeons

Report on CME conducted on “Global Perspective on Competency Based Medical Education”.

            A CME on “Global Perspective on Competency Based Medical Education” was conducted at Bhaskar Medical College, Moinabad on 08.02.2019 from 9.30am to 4.00 pm under the aegis of Association of Medical Educationists of Telangana in which 80 participants from 22 colleges actively participated in the discussions. It included the participation of Principals, Head of the departments, Professors, Associate Professors and Assistant Professors from different medical colleges.

          The Programme started with inauguration by the chief guest Dr.Neil Turner Dean of Undergraduate Learning and Teaching ,University of Edinburg along with Dean Dr.M.Narsing Rao, Principal Dr.P.V Chalam, Advisor Dr.B.Deepika of Bhaskar Medical College and Dr N V N Reddy, President of Association of Medical Educationist Telangana.

          The Introductory session was taken by Dr. P V Chalam, who introduced the salient features of proposed Graduate Medical Regulation. Prof. Neil Turner shared his experience regarding the implementation of Competency Based Medical Education .This was followed by interactive session conducted by Dr. Neil Turner regarding the components of Competency Based Medical Education. The four components discussed were integrated teaching, early clinical exposure, skills training, and assessment. Group activity was conducted involving all the 80 participants in which each group were assigned one of the above elements. This was followed by plenary presentation session during which all the groups participated in the discussion.

          After the lunch break the plenary session continued. The next session was on skills training conducted by Dr. P V Chalam in which the steps in establishing a skills training centre and training modules were discussed and was demonstrated with models and manikins.

  This was followed by open house and conclusion of the session.
