To Develop Bhaskar Medical College into a Centre of Excellence in Medical Education
The Department of Medical Education at Bhaskar Medical College was established as the Medical Education Unit (MEU) in 2005. It gained recognition as a NMC Regional Centre for Medical Education Technology in 2022, for conducting Basic Course in Medical Education (BCME) for faculty members of allocated Medical Colleges. The Regional Centre was formally inaugurated on 15th July, 2022, by Dr. Aruna V. Vanikar, President, Undergraduate Medical Education Board, National Medical Commission.
In January 2024, the Regional Centre achieved the prestigious milestone of being upgraded to the status of "NMC Nodal Centre for Medical Education Technology," an accomplishment realized within just 18 months. The formal inauguration of the Nodal Centre took place on 27th February, 2024, once again graced by Dr. Aruna V. Vanikar, President, Undergraduate Medical Education Board, National Medical Commission.
As a Nodal Centre, the Department now offers the Advance Course in Medical Education (ACME) for Faculty of allocated Medical Colleges across the States of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. This is in addition to conducting the Basic Course in Medical Education (BCME) and the Curriculum Implementation Support Program (CISP), further strengthening faculty training and capacity building in Medical Education.
